Our list policies are straightforward:
No spam, no libel, and subscribers shall take any
hostile (not intellectual) disputes off the list. These are common
sense policies that are easy to follow. Most of us would not object to
permanently banning a spammer, banning a libelist until this person
would make
it up to the person libeled, or unsubbing a couple folks who are
scuffling on the list, creating a distraction for the rest of us - but
they would be welcomed back once they promised to keep their tiffs
private. Subscribers should bear in mind that this is an ascii
text-only list. Messages containing html tags will bounce.
Note for Verizon Customers: Beginning in
July of 2004, messages from
the Flalug list were bounced by Verizon mail servers that were directed
to Verizon customers. Verizon was repeatedly notified of this matter
and, as of 3 January 2005, evidently resolved this issue. A Verizon
mail server administrator blacklisted the nks.net domain for alleged
spam indications in the distribution list headers from Sendmail. We
hope this situation will not repeat.
Update 10 October
2008: It seems that this matter was just part of more global, long term
situation with Verizon. After almost four years, Verizon still has not
learned how "to do" email. Take a look at this article.
To subscribe to the list, type
"subscribe flalug" in the body of the email and send to:
flalug-listserve
at nks.net
To remove your address from the
list,
just type "unsubscribe
flalug" into the body of an email and send it to:
flalug-listserve
at nks.net
To view our mailing list archives, point your
browser here.
For addition or removal of addresses, a confirmation message will be sent to that address. When you receive it, simply reply to it to complete the authorization.
