We were founded in January 2003 for the purpose of supplementing and
complimenting the activities of other Linux User's Groups. As censorship is a
sensitive issue in general, it was decided by FLALUG's founding members that
arbitrary rules on a LUG list are counter-productive and an alternative was
necessary to help the free software movement remain free.
The FLALUG mailing list is an english language list
that is geographically neutral. Anyone, anywhere who wants help with gnu/linux
is welcome.
The character of our email list is
different than that of some LUGs in that the rule set is sparse and
simple, allowing our subscribers to enjoy both freedom and responsibility:
Should you know of an IT job that might be of interest, post it. If
you have some hardware or linux-related software to sell, post it. If you
have a question, post it. We will allow anything as long as it isn't
totally out of line.
Some of us are experts, others are newbies. In
either case, we all have the same goal...to advance the
Linux movement!
